Nice Walk

Yesterday afternoon, my Mom and I went for a walk on the Sligo Creek Trail.  It was a beautiful day - a little hot in the Sun, but not too humid.  The shady trail was great.  We walked about 4.25 miles round-trip.

This morning, I did P90X2 Plyocide, without the foam rolling or neuro-integrated stretching.  I burned about 190 calories.  I did a little bit of my own stretching at the end to round it out.

Sunday Boxing

Yesterday I didn't do anything active in the afternoon or evening, since I was waiting for my Mom to arrive from out of town.  Unfortunately she was later than expected because of bad traffic.

This morning I went to my usual boxing class.  It was a pretty good one.  When I thought back to that last tennis match that I lost and how frustrated it made me, I really got myself hitting the bag hard.  My Mom came to boxing, too.  She used wraps and gloves for the first time.  She did pretty well keeping up with all the exercises.

Tough Doubles Loss

Last night I played #1 doubles with Megan on my 3.0 team.  It was our last match of the season.  If we won the overall match or lost no worse than 2-3, we would stay in second place.  Unfortunately Megan and I lost 6-4, 4-6, 0-1.  Our opponents were pretty good players, but they had their weaknesses, and we didn't play like we should have.  I played OK, but not great.

We were down in the second set 1-4, but came back to 4-4.  We should've won the set right there, but we didn't.  The match tie-breaker was especially frustrating.  We got down 1-4 and then came back to 7-4.  Then we were pretty even to 8-8.  At that point, I made a mistake.  I was on the baseline, and a deep, low ball came back to me.  Instead of backing up to be ready to hit it, somehow I just watched it bounce a couple inches inside the line.  So then we were down 8-9.  I received the serve and got it back OK.  After a bit of a rally, I hit a ball over along the alley.  It looked like it could've caught the line, and our opponents didn't call it immediately, so we thought it did.  But they called it out.  So they won the tie-breaker 10-8.  The unfunny part is that they had to idea about how tie-breakers work (I had been directing things), and so they didn't even realize for awhile that they had won.  Sigh.  I'm really, really frustrated with myself for losing that match.

To top it off, our team lost all the other courts except one, so we dropped down to third place for the season.  It doesn't matter, but it still has really bummed me out.  If we'd won our match, we'd still be in second place.  Of course, one of the other courts could've won, too - I had a good line-up for the match.  Sometimes that is also frustrating.

This morning, I had a practice with my teams.  I was not playing well; I just wasn't feeling it today.  My partner and I lost the first round.  A different partner and I were pretty even in the second round.  In the third round, my partner and I did win.

I'm also getting really frustrated with my weight.  I gained about 2.5 lbs over the week of Memorial Day on vacation.  Since then, I dropped my calories per day quite a bit - with how active I am, I would've thought I could have dropped that weight in 2 - 3 weeks.  For the first 2 weeks, I ate 1600 cal/day except for a high day on Saturday.  Last week and most of this week, I was eating 1700 cal/day except for Saturdays.  And I've had a ton of running and tennis and other activity going on.  However, here it is, about 4 weeks later, and I've maybe dropped 1.5 lbs.  Really?  This always seems to happen to me after vacations, and it drives me nuts.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do.  I'm getting tired of eating so little.

New BodyMedia Armband

Yesterday evening, my team finally had a tennis practice - the last few have been rained out.  We played two rounds.  My partner and I lost the first round of doubles.  A little frustrating, but then again, I really wasn't in the mood, which is unusual for me.  The second round was singles, and I won easily.

Yesterday I also received my new BodyMedia CORE armband.  My old armband was starting to have problems.  The biggest one was that it was not properly recording my sleep.  And if it's not getting that right, who knows what else it is messing up?  I had worked with BodyMedia support to try some fixes for it, but none of them worked.  That armband was itself a replacement for one that malfunctioned toward the end of last summer, so it was completely out of warranty.  However, BodyMedia is having a big sale on armbands right now, because a new version is going to be release soon, so I got my replacement for about $67.  When the new version comes out, I'll put it on my birthday list.  So now I get to see how different my calorie burns are with the new armband.

This morning I did my shortened version of P90X2 Recovery + Mobility, burning about 95 calories.

Speed Intervals

Yesterday afternoon I did a speed intervals workout on the treadmill.  I did 6x3 min at 7.2mph, alternating with 6x90 sec at 3.5 mph.  These were kind of hard, but I did do them the day after my long run, which probably wasn't the best idea.  I did do a 5-min walking break halfway.  The total came to 3.53 mi in 42:00.

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Gamma Extreme Circuit (98 cal), followed by Asylum Vol. 2 Ab Shredder.  I stuck with 10-lb weights, because this workout has you doing a LOT of reps for each move.  I burned about 175 cal total.

Long Run

Yesterday afternoon, I did the next long run on my training schedule.  It was 9.0 miles, which took me 1:30:00 at 6.0 mph, my goal pace.  I did this on the treadmill with 0% incline.  This did not feel like an extremely hard run, which was nice.  I like that my longer runs are starting to not feel so bad - maybe I'm finally improving a bit.  I did take a few breaks on the side rails.

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Core Speed (175 cal), followed by Asylum Vol. 2 Pure Contact.  This is really a pretty difficult combination.  The Core Speed workout does really get the heart beating and the sweat going.  My legs were still fatigued from the run, so it felt a bit harder.  The more I do Pure Contact, the more I appreciate the workout.  It's got a lot of good plyo work in it, that I think is useful for my other training.  I burned about 310 calories overall.

Club Night

Last night I attended my first Club Night at TCCP.  This is a mixer with some tennis and some food - it's supposed to be low-key and fun.  I missed the first club night two weeks ago.  Last night, the weather was wonderful, and the tennis was fun.  My partner and I tied our opponents in the first round.  In the second round, my partner and I lost, but it was a good match.  In the third round, my partner and I won decisively.  I didn't really bother with the food - sandwiches and chips.  I can't wait until 8:30pm to eat dinner, so I'd already eaten!

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Gamma Rip't Up (126 cal), followed by Insanity Cardio Abs.  I used 12-lb weights this morning (except for the superman-type moves), and that worked well for everything except the "shimmy" move, which is really hard.  Overall I burned about 200 calories.

Speed 3.0

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Gamma Speed 3.0 (166 cal), followed by Asylum Vol. 2 Agility Tutorial.  This always gets a good sweat going.  Today it felt like there were a million burpee moves in Speed 3.0.  Overall I burned about 265 calories.

Boxing

This morning I did my usual boxing class.  We were back to the usual instructor for it, who is my favorite, so that was good.  The class got a good burn and sweat going.

This afternoon I had planned to start on a new sprinting and plyo workout to help improve my running and tennis.  However, I ended up doing a bunch of yard work instead.  I suppose the workout will wait.

Unexpected Doubles Win

Last night, I subbed in at short notice for our 3.0 match.  Megan and I played #1 doubles.  We won, 6-3, 7-5.  I was expecting that we should win this match, but the second set was closer than I would have wanted.  I have played both of our opponents before, and they have improved their play.  It was a fun match!  Our team won four of the five courts overall.

This morning it rained, so I canceled our team tennis practice.  I went to a boxing class instead.  This class is regularly taught by a pro who is not my favorite (he subbed in for last Sunday's class that I went to), so it was just OK.  Certainly better than doing nothing!  I had a little trouble getting my arms moving - maybe they were a bit fatigued from the Gamma workout yesterday morning?

This afternoon, I did a tempo run on the treadmill.  I did 6.0 miles in 57:09, which was 6.3 mph.  This did not feel too hard - my legs fatigued faster than my cardio gave out.  I had planned to do this run yesterday, outside, but since I played in the match, I couldn't.  With the rain, I had to do it on the treadmill today.

Gamma Pyramid

Yesterday, my tennis practice did get rained out, so I took the afternoon/evening off in order to have a full rest day.  I haven't gotten one in for awhile because I've had so many tennis matches.

this morning I did FOCUS T25 Gamma The Pyramid (115 cal), followed by Asylum Vol. 2 Ab Shredder.  I have decided that I don't particularly like pyramid workouts, because they are pretty boring.  I don't feel like this one gets much back work.  The pyramid up to 11 pike-ups was tough.  In total, I burned about 195 calories.

Better Long Run

Yesterday afternoon I did a long run.  It was 7.0 miles in 1:10:00 at my goal pace of 6.0 mph, on the treadmill.  I've gone back to 0% incline on the treadmill, after research showing that for the speeds I run at, there is no need to compensate for treadmill vs. "real" running.  A brief explanation of that research from an article on Runner's World.

The run was so much easier than my long run of 12 miles earlier this week.  Yes, it was shorter, but I think the 7 miles felt easier than the first 7 miles of my 12-mi run.  I just wasn't as worn out before the run this time, and it made a difference.

This morning, I decided to switch my schedule around and do my shortened version of P90X2 Recovery + Mobility.  I burned 115 calories.  I did this because I think my tennis practice tonight is going to get rained out, and if so, I will be able to take a full rest day.  I have to do a run tomorrow, so Friday can't be my rest day like it usually is.

Big Doubles Win!

I am so excited.  Last night, Joan and I played #1 doubles on our 3.0 team against the #1 team.  One of the women we played, Marva, is someone we've played many times before, usually with the same partner, and we've lost.  Sometimes we manage to win a set, but we always lost the match tie-breaker.

Last night we won!!!  Everything really came together for it to be our night.  First, Marva was not playing at the top of her game.  She usually has a killer first serve, but she really wasn't hitting that.  Similarly, her forehand groundstrokes are usually really strong, but she was missing those.  Second, she was not playing with her usual partner.  Her usual partner excels at taking balls out of the air, making lobbing a challenge.  Her partner last night was no slouch (and I found out today that this was her first defeat in this league), but had a much softer serve and could not take balls out of the air with much success.  She let all the lobs hit the ground.

On our parts, Joan and I both played really well.  The strength that Marva still had going last night was her excellent poaching, so we realize right away that we had to keep the ball away from her so she couldn't do that.  We hit tons of lobs and some angles, making her partner really work.  My lobs were really on - I hit the baseline with them so many times!

The first set was neck-and-neck until we got to 6-6.  In the set tie-breaker, we were still staying pretty even until we got to 6-6, then we won the last two points to take the set.  In the second set, we used the same strategy, but we were expecting Marva and partner to adjust.  They just didn't.  We made even fewer errors, and ended up winning the second set 6-2.  What an awesome feeling!

This is the 7th time I've played Marva in doubles since the beginning of 2013, and I've lost every time until now.  After the match, Marva even said, "Well, you finally beat me."  She was very gracious about it.  She can afford to be - her team is already locked into first place in the league and will advance to play-offs.

This morning, I did P90X2 Plyocide, without the foam rolling or neuro-integrated stretching.  This is definitely a good workout for me - I know the jumping has helped with my tennis, and it should help running, too.  It's been good to get back to it after a bit of a break.  I burned about 195 calories.

Doubles Loss

Last night, I played #1 doubles with Debbie in our 3.5 match.  Unfortunately we lost, 6-3, 6-2.  Our opponents had a number of strengths:  very strong serves, good shot placement, and different spin shots.  They took advantage of the fact that Debbie is limited in mobility, although I did a reasonable job compensating for that.  Almost every game went to deuce, but we just couldn't win them.  It was a fun match, though.  Our team only won two courts, so we lost the match overall.

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Gamma Extreme Circuit (98 calories), followed by Insanity Cardio Abs.  I used 10-lb weight throughout the workout.  I feel like this workout works the biceps a lot, but goes too easy on triceps and back.  A lot of core work, with burpees.  I burned a total of 175 calories.

Core Speed

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Core Speed (190 cal) and followed it with Asylum Vol. 2 Pure Contact.  When I started Core Speed, I could definitely tell my hamstrings were sore from my speed intervals lately.  I did get the moves a little better this time, but a couple of them I still don't coordinate well.

I burned a total of 330 calories, which I find a bit unbelievable.  I don't think I worked that hard - I did take some breaks.  My BodyMedia device has been having some problems lately registering my sleep, so I'm worried it's not working quite right.  I've been corresponding with them about fixing it.

Speed Intervals

This morning I did my usual boxing class.  However, another pro taught it today.  Not my favorite version.  He tends to do all boxing rounds, then all abs, about 40 minutes and 20 minutes.  I prefer the regular instructor, who mixes some ab work and plyo work into the rounds.  I think doing the ab work all at once just makes my abs too fatigued to do the moves well.

This afternoon, I did some speed intervals.  I did 6 x 3 min at 7.2mph alternating with 6 x 90 sec at 3.5 mph.  I did 5 minutes walking warm-up and cool down.  I also put in 5 minutes of walking in the middle.  The intervals were hard.  I wasn't puffing, but my legs thought they were hard.  I definitely felt it in my upper hamstrings and glutes when I was done.  The total was 42:00 min and 3.53 miles, including the walking break in the middle.

Loooong Run

Yesterday afternoon I came home from work early to do my planned long run.  I ran 12 miles at 6.0 mph in 2:00:00.  It was really, really hard.  I hadn't run in 10 days.  I'm not sure if that's why it was hard or not, but it felt bad.  I was at a 1% incline for the first 6.5 miles, and then I went down to 0%, which helped.  Even so, I took a lot of breaks on the rails, so I probably only actually ran 9 of the 12 miles.  But I finished it!

This morning, I had tennis practice with my team.  I played pretty well, winning each of my rounds, even though my legs were still quite fatigued from my long run the day before.   I was definitely a little slow of the mark, but my serve was doing pretty well.

This afternoon, Bill and I went for a bike ride.  We went between 23 - 24 miles on the Sligo Creek trail and the Northwest Bracn trail.  It wasn't too hard, but my legs were still tired.

3.5 Singles Win!

Last night I played #2 singles in our 3.5 match.  I was not scheduled to play; however, the singles lady scheduled had an injury, and it turns out that all of our other singles players were either injured or busy.  So I filled in.  I won: 6-1, 5-7, 1-0!  My opponent only rarely plays singles, and it was pretty obvious in the first set.  She didn't recover to the middle well, and I was pretty "on", especially my serves.  In the second set, I was up 4-1, when she started to win.  I think I got a little too chatty with her and lost my ofocus a bit; she also started to hit better shots off of me, especially since my serve was flattening out.  It was frustrating to lose the second set.  In the match tie-breaker, I was down or even until we got to 8-8.  Then I managed to get the last two points!  Our team won all of the other courts except one, so we finally got another team win!

This morning I did my shorted version of P90X2 Recovery + Mobility.  Since I've been foam rolling after all of my workouts while doing my FOCUS T25 Gamma hybrid, this wasn't necessarily anything special.  I am hoping to improve my flexibility a bit during this schedule, since I am foam rolling more.  We'll see.  I burned 95 calories.

NOVA Win

Last night, I played #3 doubles with Amy in a NOVA match.  We won, 6-3, 6-3.  We started off really well, getting up 4-0.  Then all of a sudden, our opponents won 3 games - it was like they had flipped a switch and started playing better.  We pulled ourselves together to win the set.  The second set was similar, where we got ahead and then they came back.  Fortunately we did win both sets.    Our team won all of the courts for the match.

This was my last scheduled NOVA match.  We have "play-offs" this weekend, but I am not scheduled to play.  It's kind of funny to have play-offs when the league does not advance and doesn't even count toward ratings.  I won 4 of my 6 matches, which is not bad for a 3.5 league I'm totally unfamiliar with.
I have found that I really don't like the 90-minute matches - I feel too much time pressure.  Time wasn't an issue with either of my losses, but I feel like I can't enjoy the match as much.

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Gamma Rip't Up (125 cal) and Asylum Vol. 2 Ab Shredder.  I did get a decent sweat going, but again, I didn't think it was that hard.  I did move up to 10-lb weights for everything except the supermans, where I used 3-lbs weights; I'd like to switch between weights more, but there isn't time.  The downward dog/push-up sequence did get hard.  Overall, I burned about 215 calories.

Doubles Loss

Last night I played #3 doubles with Cheryl on my 3.5 team.  Unfortunately we lost 6-3, 6-3.  It was a very frustrating match.  We felt like we were able to beat them, but we just couldn't quite do it.  They made very few errors, and we definitely made some.  It was extra frustrating because the team did not win any of the other courts, either, and we were playing the team that is in last place!  We aren't that bad!  I know in the end it doesn't really matter, but we've been losing a lot, and I'd like to turn that around.

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Gamma Speed 3.0 (175 cal) and Asylum Vol. 2 Agility Tutorial.  I did remember some of the moves from Speed 3.0, so I spend less time being confused.  Some of them are still a little dancy, and I can't quite do them right.  I burned about 295 calories total.  I also have noticed that I've been burning more calories for the rest of the day after that, compared to yesterday after my workout.  I definitely was working a lot harder today.

The Pyramid

Last night I had my last night of doubles at TCCP for awhile.  We take the summer off.  I played OK; I was feeling a little out of it.  My legs were still fatigued from Sunday's activities and Plyocide yesterday morning.  I lost both rounds, but the second one was very close.  We had a small party to end the night.

This morning, I did FOCUS T25 Gamma The Pyramid (115 cal), followed by Insanity Cardio Abs.  I think The Pyramid is a little easier than the other two Gamma strength workouts.  However, I used 10-lbs weights, and I will try to remember to use 12-lbs next time.  I burned about 200 calories total.  I've now gone through a whole sequence of my FOCUS T25 Gamma schedule, so I'll be repeating the schedule through mid-July.

Monday, June 9, 2014

Plyocide

This morning I did P90X2 Plyocide.  I did not do the intro foam rolling or the neuro-integrated stretching at the end, which shortened it to about 41 minutes.  I could tell I haven't done a lot of plyo work in awhile, because it was hard.  Or maybe it was just the boxing + biking + tennis yesterday!  I burned about 195 calories.

Sunday, June 8, 2014

Busy Day

This morning I had my usual boxing class.  It did not seem significantly different than usual, but I didn't burn as many calories as usual.  My neck was still bothering me a bit in a couple of the core moves.

This afternoon, Bill and I went biking.  From our house, we biked down the Rock Creek trail into DC.  We connected to the Capitol Crescent/C&O Canal Trail and followed it back to Silver Spring and home.  The total was about 25 miles, in a little over two hours.

This evening, I had a NOVA doubles match.  My partner, Karen, and I lost 6-3, 6-3.  One of our opponents had really good overheads and angled volleys, and we kept accidentally dropping the ball on her so she could put it away.  My partner was also somewhat limited in mobility.  It was a bit of a frustrating match.

Saturday, June 7, 2014

Doubles Win

This morning I had practice with my tennis teams.  I played OK.  My neck is feeling better, but still a bit sore.  It was a beautiful day.

This afternoon I played on #1 doubles with Debbie in my 3.5 match with my team.  We won, 6-1, 6-2.  Debbie is a fantastic net player, and she had a lot of great, angled shots.  She can't get around as well, so I concentrated on covering the rest of the court to funnel the shots back to Debbie.  Plus, Debbie had an awesome serve today.  Unfortunately our team only won one other court, so we lost the match overall.

Doubles Loss

Last night I played #1 doubles with Joan for our 3.0 team.  Unfortunately, we lost 6-3, 6-3.  Our opponents were really playing extremely well - we've played both of them before, and last night they were "on".  One of them is very good at precision lobs, and the other was really good at the net.  We had very long points, but Joan and I kept losing them at the end.  In the second set, Joan and I switched sides, but that didn't seem to matter.  I tried moving up and taking lobs out of the air and playing more at the net, but that only worked for a short time.  They did a really good job with angles and hitting at Joan's feet.  Frustrating!  Unfortunately, our team only won one court in the whole match - every one of their players was really playing in top form.  Lucky for them!

Fortunately, my neck was feeling better.  Still pretty sore, but I had most of my range of motion back, and it didn't really bother me for the match.

This morning I did the workout I had planned for yesterday morning:  FOCUS T25 Gamma Extreme Circuit (96 cal) and Aslyum Vol. 2 Ab Shredder.  My neck is still sore, so I was being careful at the beginning of each move to make sure it wasn't going to hurt my neck.  This workout is reasonably interesting; it does have more reps of some of the moves than Rip't Up did.  However, I'm still not sure I'm getting much out of such a short time.  We'll see, I guess.  In total, I burned about 180 calories.

Neck Pain & Race Registration

Last night I had a tennis practice with my team.  I had had a sore neck during the day, but it wasn't too bad.  However, during practice, it just got worse and worse.  By the end of practice, I could hardly turn my head side-to-side or tilt it up and down.  It really hurt!  Not good!  I'm not sure what caused it initially.  I'm guessing I tweaked it during my T25 workout the morning before.  Sometimes when I start shoulder exercises again after some time off, my traps really bother me.  However, it's never been this bad before.

Unfortunately, the pain was still really bad this morning.  I changed my workout schedule and just did my shortened version of P90X2 Recovery + Mobility.  I burned about 80 calories.

I've been taking some painkillers, and the neck is getting a little better.  Hopefully I'll be able to play effectively in my 3.0 match tonight!

Today I registered for the two big fall races I've been wanting to do.  First, I registered for the Parks Half-Marathon, which is on Sunday, Sep. 14.  The race route travels through Montgomery County's pars, especially Rock Creek Park, and is supposed to be really pretty.  Since I've been through those parks, I'd have to agree it seems like it will be a neat experience.  Also, the route is overall downhill, so I'm hoping I will be able to make my goal to finish in less than 2 hours!

The second race I registered for is the Marine Corps Marathon 10K, which is on Sunday, Oct. 26, the same day as the Marine Corps Marathon.  The Marine Corps Marathon is supposed to be an amazing event because of all the spectators and support that go with it.  There's no way I'd be able to do the marathon, but the 10K runs on the same day and starts and finishes in parallel, so I'm hoping to be able to get some of the same experience.

Core Speed

This morning, I did FOCUS T25 Gamma Core Speed (176 cal).  This is an extra workout available for FOCUS T25.  I purchased it to help round out the workout plan that I made.  Core Speed's structure is the same as Speed 3.0.  It is very fast-paced, and I did have trouble coordinating a few moves.  I'm not sure that I thought it was more core-focused than Speed 3.0, but it was fine.

After Core Speed, I did Asylum Vol. 2 Pure Contact.  This has some plyo work that I think is useful.  Overall, I burned about 285 calories and got a good sweat going.

Tuesday, June 3, 2014

Speed Intervals

Last night, I played #2 doubles with Cora in a 3.5 match.  We won 7-6, 6-2.  The first set was tough, because one of our opponents had a really good serve, and we kept accidentally giving them the ball at the net.  However, the other opponent had a really horrible serve and double-faulted many, many times, which helped.  By the time we got to the set tie-breaker, we figured out how to handle the good serve, and it was all downhill from there.  Unfortunately the team only won one other court, so we lost the match overall.

This morning I did FOCUS T25 Gamma Rip't Up (115 calories) and Insanity Cardio Abs.  I'm not sure what I think about Rip't Up.  It certainly kept moving without breaks, but we didn't do very many reps of any of the moves.  I used 12 lb weights for just about everything except the superman-type moves.  We'll see if I'm sore tomorrow, and where.  I burned about 180 calories total.

This afternoon, I did speed intervals on the treadmill.  I did 9x2 min at 7.2 mph alternating with 9x90 sec at 3.5 mph.  I did a 5-min warm-up and cool-down.  It came to 3.53 miles in 41:30.  The intervals felt hard - I haven't done any in a few weeks.  I did some walking to fill out an hour.

FOCUS T25 Gamma

Last night, I played doubles with Michele in our 3.0 match.  We won, 7-5, 6-2.  The first set was kind of rough, as both of our opponents had good serves and some good net shots.  After we closed out the first set, however, our opponents could not seem to get their groove back.  One of our opponents really started having problems with her serve, and Michele did a good job with her own service games.  Our team won two other courts, so we won the match overall.

This morning I started FOCUS T25 Gamma.  It is a series of resistance workouts intended to follow FOCUS T25 Alpha and Beta, which are mostly cardio-based.  All of the workouts are 25 minutes long, hence the name.  The workouts are by Shaun T, who has also done Insanity and Asylum Vol. 1 and 2.  I haven't done Alpha and Beta, but because of my other experience, I know that Gamma shouldn't be a problem in the sense of not being prepared.

I am going to be doing a modified schedule, because I'm going to be adding in the Core Speed bonus workout, Plyocide from P90X2, and some Asylum Vol. 2 workouts.  There are several reasons for these modifications.  First, I do want the resistance training, but I also need some plyo work.  Second, 25 minutes is really short, and I want to boost the calorie burn a bit.  I feel like I didn't see that much in the way of results from my last 4 weeks of Body Beast, so I'm hoping the different type of resistance training will be beneficial.

I'll be doing the workouts in this sequence:
1. Speed 3.0 plus Asylum Vol. 2 Agility Tutorial
2. Rip't Up plus abs workout
3. Core Speed plus Asylum Vol. 2 Pure Contact
4. Extreme Circuit plus abs workout
5. Plyocide from P90X2 (without the neuro-integrated stretching sequence at the end)
6. The Pyramid plus abs workout
The abs workouts will be alternating between Insanity Cardio Abs and Asylum Vol. 2 Ab Shredder.  I will be cycling through this Monday - Thursday, with Friday being my rest day.

This morning I did Speed 3.0 (177 calories burned) and Asylum Vol. 2 Agility Tutorial (fast-forwarding through the prep parts).    Speed 3.0 is definitely a fast-moving workout.  I spent a bit of time figuring out the moves, but even so, still burned a lot of calories in 25 minutes.  There are a lot of moves where you have to get down on the floor in plank and do something, then jump back up, which definitely is tiring.  I'm not sure how much I liked it, but it is over pretty quickly.  I don't like the lack of warm-up or cool-down, although I usually plan to do some foam rolling afterward.  For the two workouts together, I burned about 275 calories, which isn't bad for about 45 minutes!

Back to Boxing

Now that I'm back from vacation, I was back to my usual Sunday morning boxing class.  Nothing special in the class, but I suspect that with almost two weeks off from boxing, I'm going to be feeling it tomorrow!
